SPC Meeting dates 2025
Staploe Parish Council Meetings
are held in Wyboston Village Hall at 7.45pm. Historically these have been on the third Thursday of every other month but from September 2025 we will be moving to the third Wednesday of every other month (January, March, May, July, September, November). In July 2025 we will meet on Wednesday 23rd July. Please find the link to the list of meeting dates at the top of this page. Members of the public are welcome to attend and ask questions during the Public Open Forum at the start of the meeting.
The Parish Council also have a:
- Finance Committee which usually meets in October to prepare a draft budget for the November Parish Council meeting
- A1 Working Group which meets occasionally as required to discuss any matters related to the A1 East of England Review. This has not met since 2017
- Village Hall Management Working Group – any remaining members of the Village Hall Committee can join this group when the Parish Council are acting as sole trustees (eg in 2018 when the Management Committee could not get property owners insurance)
- Village Hall Rebuild Working Group – this has not met since 2018 but may be needed in future once the rebuilding project starts.
Annual Parish Meeting
This is normally held in March but must be held before the end of May. It is not a Parish Council meeting. It is a public meeting where parishioners can receive reports on what organisations such as the Parish Council have done in the parish over the year and parishioners can ask for items to be discussed and voted on (by parishioners). The outcome of any vote is not binding on the Parish Council but they should take the outcome of any vote seriously and justify any decisions which countered the outcome of the vote.
Playing Field
Staploe Parish Council are the sole trustees of Duloe and Staploe Village Playing Field Charity and we therefore hold trustee meetings for the charity at least twice per year. Usually after the January and September meetings.
Staploe and Duloe Village Hall (currently closed)
The Village Hall Management Committee normally meet at least three times per year. October (AGM), November and April. They are currently working on plans to rebuild the hall.
In the event that the Village Hall Committee are unable to form a management committee the Parish Council become sole trustees and managing trustees of Staploe and Duloe Village Hall Charity until such time as a committee is able to reform. This was the case from January to August 2018.
