Duloe Village Hall was closed for safety reasons in May 2018. We are investigating the options to rebuild it. During a survey of the existing structure to see whether any of the existing frame could be reused we discovered that the wooden frame is rotting and unsafe. In addition to this the asbestos roof is leaking. Due to the presence of asbestos throughout the building and the poor state of the frame it is impossible to renovate or repair so the Village Hall Committee decided to close it while we investigate rebuilding options. We have cancelled all bookings and we are not accepting any more.
Staploe and Duloe Village Hall is held in trust by a charity. It is managed by the Village Hall management committee.
A new hall management committee was formed at the AGM on 30th August 2018.
We received 46 responses to our questionnaire about rebuilding the hall of which 84% wanted a new hall and 16% were not sure. Parishioners wanted to use a new hall for a wide range of uses of which the most popular were: community and parish social events, community meetings, regular clubs and sports / exercise classes and private mixed age parties. More detailed results will be available on the website shortly. The new committee will be investigating options.

The Parish Council and Village Hall Management Committee are investigating the possibility of rebuilding the village hall.
