Staploe Parish Neighbourhood Plan Consultation
Staploe Parish Council is preparing a Neighbourhood Plan covering the whole Parish. Over the past couple of years, the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group has undertaken initial consultation and gathered background evidence. It has now completed a draft Neighbourhood Plan.
In accordance with the 2012 Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations (Regulation 14), the Draft Neighbourhood Plan is out to formal consultation from Saturday 12th April 2025 to 5pm Saturday 31st May 2025.
Following revision to reflect consultation responses, it is hoped that the Neighbourhood Plan will be submitted to Bedford Borough Council on 16th June 2025. An examination is likely between mid June and mid September 2025 and it is anticipated that a local referendum will be held towards the end of 2025. In the meantime, it is important that as many people and organisations comment on the draft plan during this consultation. In addition to engaging local people, community organisations and businesses in the Parish, the Parish Council wishes to obtain the views of statutory bodies and other interested organisations at each stage of the Plan. Your comments are, therefore, invited.
To assist you in this, the Draft Plan feedback form is available on our website and you can also provide feedback to the Parish Clerk at Contact – Staploe Parish Council or at 33, Staploe, St Neots PE19 5JA. It is hoped that as many people as possible will use electronic means to read the plan and submit comments in the interests of efficiency and the environment.
The Draft Plan and accompanying documents are on the Parish Council website: https://staploe-pc.gov.uk/our-parish-council/staploe-parish-council-neigbourhood-plan/neighbourhood-plan-consultation/
If you need to view a hard copy of the Plan and its accompanying documents, these will be available in the black box file in the Hamlets Exchange in Staploe (the red telephone box) or at the Clerk’s address (by appointment) from Monday 14th April 2025. We are also holding drop in sessions where all the documents can be viewed in the committee room of Wyboston Village Hall on Wednesday 30th April 7-8pm and again on Thursday 22nd May 7-8pm.
The parish clerk, Lucy Crawford, is managing the process on behalf of the Parish Council
