A1 Sandy to Biggleswade North Roundabout: southbound total closure – resurfacing
I am writing to tell you that we plan to carry out resurfacing work on the A1 Sandy to Biggleswade North Roundabout. Once complete, drivers will benefit from a safer, smoother and better-defined road surface.
We plan to complete this work over three nights. Work will begin on Monday 14 July to Thursday 17 July. We will work between 9pm and 5am, weather permitting.
Closures and diversions
To carry out the work safely, we will need to close the A1 southbound from Sandy to Biggleswade North Roundabout and divert traffic as follows:
* Traffic will be diverted via the A1 northbound at Sandy A603 roundabout to Black Cat roundabout
* At Black Cat roundabout take the 2nd exit and follow the A421 westbound to Elstow Interchange
* At Elstow Interchange take the 1st exit onto the A6 to continue toward Clophill.
* At Clophill roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A507, continue to J10 Baldock Interchange
* Re-join the A1 to go north towards Sandy where the diversion ends.
Traffic wishing to travel northbound will follow the diversion above in reverse
